Skomvær Lighthouse Long String Instruments.

I had a 3 day workshop in experimental musical instrument building for all the participants, as an introduction to a 14- day experimental co-lab on site-specific art as part of Røst Artist-In-Residence at Skomvær Fyr Lighthouse, Lofoten, co-organized with sound- and movement artist Marie Kaada Hovden.

To the right: 22 pictures from the workshop and concerts on instruments developed during the Co-Lab by the participants. Photos © by Marie Kaada Hovden, Gregory Kramer and Johannes Bergmark, from my Flickr set.

Above, left: 30 pictures from The Long-Stringed Skomvær Lighthouse developed during the Co-Lab by Marie Kaada Hovden and me. Photos © by Jurgita Miezelyte, Gregory Kramer and Johannes Bergmark, from my Flickr set.

Above, right: 11 pictures from The (possibly) World's Longest Violin developed during the Co-Lab by Marie Kaada Hovden, with some assistance from me and Nicola Casetta. Photos © by Marie Kaada Hovden and Johannes Bergmark, from my Flickr set.

To the left above: Skomvær Fyr Lighthouse Long String Instrument, created by Johannes Bergmark and Marie Kaada Hovden. These clips are filmed with my not very fancy mobile phone by me and Marie, and the instrument is played by Marie and me. The longitudinal vibrations of the long strings can be clearly heard.

To the right above: The World's Longest Violin?, created by Marie Kaada Hovden with the assistance of Johannes Bergmark and Nicola Casetta. Again, these clips are filmed with my low quality mobile phone by me and Marie, and the instrument is played by Marie and me. Strong longitudinal vibrations also in this instrument.

Bodø-Røst-Skomvær 2014. Some random clips on the way to, and at, the Co-Lab. The bell installation was made by Jurgita Miezelyte.

[More films coming eventually]
