The Kantele

The Kantele. The ancient 5-string Kantele has a history of maybe 2000 years. It's a zither without a bridge, with the lid made of cedar tree. It's related to the russian Gusli. Nowadays, the Kantele and the Gusli have many strings. In finland, it's considered the national folk instrument, meant to accompany recitations of the national epos Kalevala. I made this in two days on a weekend course.
